Find my Climate Region
Last Modified: 11/9/08

The different wiki groups of the WorldFoodGarden.org site (listed at the bottom of this page) are grouped together by shared climates. In the Koppen-Geiger Climate map below, you will see that certain areas of the southwestern United States share the same climate as a lot of North Africa and Australia. You can see the shared climates in other places of the globe as well. By grouping these Wikis by climate region we hope to produce some cross pollination of gardeners in similar climate regions across cultural and national boundaries. To identify your climate region, find your location on the map and check its color against the map key to get the proper letter code for your local Wiki.

Tropical Moist Climates (Af) Rainforest
Wet-Dry Tropical Climates (AW) Savanna
Dry Tropical Climate (BW) Desert Biome
Dry Midlatitude Climates (BS) Steppe
Mediterranean Climate (CS) Chaparral Biome
Dry Midlatitude Climates (BS) Grasslands Biome
Moist Continental Climate (CF) Deciduous Forest Biome
Boreal Forest Climate (DFC) Taiga Biome
Tundra Climate (E) Tundra Biome
Highland Climate (H) Alpine Biome
